SWEF backed business enjoys Wembley project

Dorset-based recycling firm, Circular 11, who received a SWEF Business Grant, is helping tackle plastic waste by transforming hard-to-recycle material from Wembley Stadium’s football pitch into benches for grassroots clubs.

Based in Christchurch, the company turns mixed plastics into durable planks used for furniture, fencing and infrastructure projects. Wembley contacts Circular 11 several times a year when its pitch is replaced before major matches and events, as the materials cannot normally be recycled. The company then creates benches from the waste and sends them to grassroots football clubs, along with information about Wembley’s pitch and its history.

The initiative combines recycling with community support and sustainability.
