From Hospitality Pro to Coffee Shop Owner: How a SWEF Business Grant Upgraded Lymm's Specialty Coffee Scene

Based in Cheshire, Harry Sheridan received a grant from SWEF to help towards a super-efficient coffee machine in his new ‘grab & go’ coffee shop in Lymm.

What is your business?

Cuppello's Coffee & Juice is a specialty coffee shop and juice bar in Lymm, Cheshire. We're more than just a coffee shop – we're a local favourite known for our vibrant atmosphere, exceptional specialty coffee, fresh bagels, and welcoming community vibe. We've become a go-to destination for remote workers, retirees, and dog walkers.

How did you get started?

I have over a decade of hospitality experience, with six years specifically focused on coffee. I poured my passion into opening Cuppello's in a town that lacked any specialty coffee offerings. Within 18 months, the café had not only recovered its startup investment but also established itself as a unique destination in Lymm.

What led you to apply for a grant and how did it help develop your business?

I applied for a SWEF grant to invest in a La Marzocco Linea PB – a top-of-the-line coffee machine. We needed to improve our output and service speed, and the SWEF grant allowed us to make that leap sooner than we otherwise could have done.

How have you seen your finances changes since you received the grant?

The new machine has transformed our operations with enhanced productivity and quicker service times. We're better equipped to meet growing demand from our loyal customer base. This investment elevated our brand - we now stand firmly as a leader in Lymm's emerging specialty coffee scene, offering quality and experience previously unavailable in the area.
